Gymnast with Back Pain

This young gymnast had been suffering from lower back pain. The 'pinched' area in her lower back can be seen. There is less than two hours between the first picture (on the left) and the last picture (on the right). The middle picture respresents the differences that about 55mins of Peter Egoscue E-cises can make (Static Back, Supine Groin, and Air Bench). The last picture represents the completion of the session using cranial techniques, and Fascial techniques to allow the structure to come back in balance. At the end of the session, it would be as challenging for the girl on the right to stand, without effort, like the the girl on the left; as it would be for the girl on the left, at the beginning, to stand, without effort, like the girl on the right. Changes are resilient.

BELL'S PALSY

This lady presented with Bell's Palsy, a paralysis of the Facial Nerve. She was unable to blink, move her face or move her mouth on the affected side. She has differences in her teeth left and right. On one side the teeth are laid over and it is less easy for her to chew. On the other, the teeth were breaking down from overuse. She was due to have implants to secure the teeth on the overused side. Knowing that she would not be allowed to chew on the new implants for a considerable time until the bone had healed around them, she decided to eat up more of the harder to chew meats from her freezer before the implants were fitted. Chewing tougher things consistently on one side caused considerable compression on the bones and nerves in her face on that side. The Palsy occurred BEFORE any dental work was done as a result of the constant chewing on one side. The implants were fitted while she was suffering from Bell's Palsy. The bruising occurred during the extractions and fitting of the implants, BEFORE she came to see me. The below series of photographs shows the progressive and massive, restorative impact CranioSacral Therapy can have. Bell's Palsy can often take 6 months to resolve.

The first picture was taken when she arrived (bruising is from extractions and putting in of the implants and NOT to do with my work). The second picture shows what was achieved by the end of one session.

The first picture was taken BEFORE any work was done on the second session and shows continued improvement in the gap between the sessions (3 week gap between sessions). The second picture was taken part way through the second session.

The bottom two pictures show how movement, balance and function was restored after the end of the second session. Happy days!!
